Baritone Timothy Renner, with his “industrial strength voice,” has engagements to perform in Lully’s Armide and Verdi’s La Traviata with Opera Columbus in 2015-16, as well as La Cenerentola at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina in 2016. Besides Sugar Creek Opera, he will also be a fellow at Ravinia’s Steans Music Institute this summer. Recent awards include first prize at the S. Livingston Mather Scholarship Competition in Cleveland, Ohio, and second place at the Orpheus National Vocal Competition. Currently completing his DMA at the University of Illinois, his recent roles include Gianni Schicchi, Riolobo in Florencia en el Amazonas, and Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady.
