Tasha Koontz

Tasha Koontz is a soprano, music director and voice teacher in San Diego . This past season she sang with Los Angeles Opera in I Pagliacci and with San Diego Opera in their production of Tosca. Recent competition awards include 1st place at the Coeur d’Alene Symphony Young Artists Competition and 3rd place at the La Jolla Symphony Young Artist Competition. Tasha’s favorite roles performed include Mimi in Puccini’s La Boheme and Violetta in Verdi’s La Traviata, both with Opera on the Avalon in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Other highlights include singing Alice Ford in Verdi’s Falstaff at IU Opera Theater, Donna Anna in Mozart’s Don Giovanni at Bay View Music Festival, and Countess in Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro at Northwestern University.
